  • Demonstrated professional experience as an Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, or in a comparable technical leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience in mobile application development, particularly with Android and/or iOS platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage engineering teams and oversee software projects from initial planning through production deployment.
  • Solid understanding of APIs, backend systems, databases, cloud platforms, and software architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of Git, code review practices, software testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and production support.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical challenges while making sound engineering decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, project planning, coordination, and team management capabilities.
  • Practical experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), Swift, Firebase, Google Cloud, AWS, and subscription-based systems will be considered an added advantage.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate mobile and backend software engineering teams.
  • Plan technical activities, distribute tasks among team members, and ensure projects are completed within the scheduled timeline.
  • Provide technical direction on system architecture, technology choices, and software development methodologies.
  • Review proposed technical solutions, code quality, development practices, and engineering standards.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of Android, iOS, Kotlin Multiplatform, APIs, and backend systems.
  • Ensure applications and backend services deliver high standards of stability, performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Monitor and address application crashes, ANRs, API errors, server problems, and other production-related incidents.
  • Lead technical troubleshooting, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to minimize recurring issues.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, UI/UX, QA, and Management teams to ensure smooth project execution and delivery.
  • Optimize software development, testing, release, backup, deployment, and operational processes.
  • Support technical recruitment activities, including candidate assessment, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Mentor and guide engineers while monitoring their performance, productivity, technical capabilities, and professional development.
